Our Home Insurance Restricted Policy

Whether it’s the family home, holiday house or your tenanted property, your valuable investment needs to be protected. If you choose our Restricted insurance cover you will benefit from the protection for certain events, giving you the comfort and safety of insurance without the extras.

What am I covered for?

We'll cover you for any damage to your home cause by fire, break-ins and weather related events including natural disasters.

We cover your home for the full replacement costs to repair or rebuild your home, up to the sum insured.

With SumExtra, you get up to 10% extra cover if your property is damaged or destroyed in a natural disaster. In the event of a non-natural disaster, SumExtra covers you for the full cost of repair or replacement – even if that cost exceeds your sum insured. To qualify for SumExtra, your sum insured needs to be based on a written rebuild cost estimate that is dated within the last 3 years.

We'll cover your home for damage caused by natural disasters. If the damage exceeds entitlement through the Earthquake Commission, this policy extends to cover the full amount, up to your sum insured.

Our cover can include extra features within your home’s boundary such as your driveway, gardens, swimming pools and retaining walls.

We give you the ability to choose from a range of excess options which can help to reduce the premium you pay.

If your home becomes uninhabitable due to a covered loss, your insurance will reimburse you for temporary accommodation, including boarding for your domestic pets and temporary storage for your belongings.

Covered for your legal liability resulting from accidental injury to someone or damage to their property, in connection to your ownership of the home.

Our cover protects you from loss and damage from robbery or vandalism, including stolen keys.

Optional Covers

Our policy offers extra cover benefits, available for you to add on to your policy.

This optional extra benefit extends for cover for loss of rent and chattel cover if your home is tenanted.
